For Advocates

You were invited to refer friends. Here is how the referral program works and what to expect.

An advocate is someone a business has personally invited to refer friends, family, or colleagues. If you received an invitation email from a business you've worked with, this page is for you.

When you were invited, you were given a personal referral link. This link is unique to you — when someone visits it and submits their information, that referral is credited to your account.

Your link is included in your invitation email. You can also access it any time from your advocate portal (see below).

How to refer someone

Share your referral link however feels natural — text message, email, or posting it somewhere your contacts will see it. When the person you referred:

  1. Follows your link
  2. Submits their contact information on the referral page

...the referral shows up in your portal as pending. The business will be in touch with your friend to schedule their appointment or job.

When you earn a reward

Once the business confirms the job is complete and marks the referral as converted, your reward is calculated and recorded in your portal. How rewards are paid out (check, credit, gift card, etc.) depends on the business — check with them directly if you are not sure.

Your advocate portal

Your portal is a personal dashboard where you can see:

  • All of your referrals and their current status (pending, converted, expired)
  • Your cumulative reward balance
  • Your referral link

Access it via the link in your invitation email or any reward notification email. No password required — the link is personal to you. Treat it like a password: do not share it with others, and avoid posting it publicly.

Common questions

What if my referral link expires? Some programs have an end date set by the business. If a campaign has ended, new referrals through your link will not be accepted. Contact the business if you are unsure whether the program is still active.

What if the campaign ends? If the business's referral program has an end date and that date has passed, your referral link will no longer accept new submissions. Any referrals that were already submitted before the campaign ended remain open and can still be converted — the end date only blocks new ones.

Can I refer more than one person? Yes, up to the limit set for the campaign. Every campaign has a maximum number of referrals per advocate — the business may set this themselves, or it may default to a platform limit. If you have reached the limit, your referral link will stop accepting new submissions. Contact the business if you are unsure what the limit is for your campaign.
