Billing & Plans

How Recomly billing works — plans, pricing, upgrading and downgrading, payment methods, and invoices.

Recomly billing is self-serve. You can subscribe, change your plan, and update your payment method at any time from the Billing page inside the app. All payments are processed securely by Stripe.

Plans and pricing

Recomly offers three paid plans plus a free trial.

PlanMonthlyYearlyYearly savings

Annual plans are billed once per year as a single charge. Monthly plans renew on the same calendar date each month.

Enterprise pricing is available for high-volume or multi-location businesses. Contact us to discuss a custom arrangement.

Free trial

New organizations start on a free trial. The trial gives you full access to evaluate the platform before adding a card.

  • The Billing page shows a banner with days remaining on your trial.
  • When your trial ends, the organization is suspended until you subscribe.
  • No credit card is required to start — you only add payment details when you choose to subscribe.

Subscribing

To activate a paid subscription:

  1. Go to Billing in the left navigation.
  2. Click Subscribe on the trial banner or the plan card.
  3. Select your preferred plan and billing interval (monthly or yearly).
  4. Enter your card details and click Subscribe.

Your plan activates immediately. A receipt is emailed to your account's billing email.

Changing your plan

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from the Billing page.

Upgrading

Click Change plan, select a higher tier, and confirm. The upgrade takes effect immediately. Stripe calculates a prorated charge for the remainder of your current billing period, and you are charged only for the difference.

Downgrading

Click Change plan, select a lower tier, and confirm the downgrade. Stripe calculates a prorated credit for unused time on your current plan and applies it to your account balance. That credit is drawn down automatically on future invoices — you will not be charged again until the credit is exhausted.

Feature access after a downgrade — If your new plan does not include a feature you were using (such as SSO or API access), those features are disabled immediately upon downgrade. Existing data is preserved; the features are simply gated until you upgrade again.

Payment methods

Only admins can manage payment methods. To update your card:

  1. Go to Billing.
  2. Click Update card on the Payment Method card.
  3. Enter your new card details and click Save card.

The new card replaces the previous one immediately and is used for all future charges.

Invoices

After every successful payment, Recomly sends a receipt email from hello@recomly.com to all admins in your organization. The email includes your plan name, amount charged, billing period, and a link to the hosted invoice PDF.

Your last 12 invoices are also listed directly on the Billing page inside the app, each with the date, amount, and a PDF link.

Payment failures

If a payment fails, Recomly sends an immediate email to all admins in your organization from hello@recomly.com explaining what happened, the amount due, and the next scheduled retry date. Your organization also enters past due status in the app:

  • A red banner appears at the top of all pages for admins.
  • Recomly continues to function during the grace period.
  • Stripe automatically retries the charge on the schedule shown in the failure email.
  • To resolve immediately: go to Billing, click Update card, add a valid payment method. Stripe will attempt the charge again after the card is saved.

If retries are exhausted without a successful payment, the subscription is canceled and access is suspended.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page.

  1. Go to Billing in the left navigation.
  2. Click Cancel subscription at the bottom of the Current Plan card.
  3. Review the confirmation — your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  4. Click Yes, cancel to confirm.

Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current period, not immediate. Your plan and all features stay fully active until that date. No further charges are made and no refund is issued for the remaining days.

Once cancellation is scheduled, an amber banner appears on the Billing page showing the exact date your access ends.

Changed your mind?

You can undo a scheduled cancellation any time before the period ends by clicking Undo cancellation on the amber banner (or on the plan card). Your subscription resumes as normal and will renew on the original schedule.

Security

Card details are never stored on Recomly servers. All payment information is handled directly by Stripe and is subject to Stripe's privacy policy and PCI DSS compliance program.
